  9. Yes it's back! This is the all-new, super-trendy Mouse program!     
  10. Mouse II is the latest version of my mouse speed controller.
  11.  
  12. Advantages over Mouse 1.0
  13. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  14. 1. One of the greatest improvements to Mouse is the reduction of memory
  15.    needed to run the program. Mouse now has a wimpslot of 48k which is
  16.    two thirds of the amount needed by it's predecessor.

  18. 2. The user interface has been greatly improved. It now uses RISC-OS3
  19.    3d icons and it now no longer requires Interface Manager (sorry
  20.    RISC-OS2 users! You've probably got a really boring-looking set of
  21.    icons!).

  23. 3. MouseII does a lot more than just change your mouse step-rate! See
  24.    below for more info on Mouse's new facilities.

  26. 4. My rodent icon now has a really trendy pair of shades!

  28. Using Mouse II
  29. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  30. Once Mouse II has been installed you can click SELECT over the rodent
  31. icon to access the main window- this is where you change the mouse
  32. step-rate. The five speed icons, indicated 1-5, allow you to set the
  33. step-rate for both x and y directions. If you want to have a varied x,y
  34. step then use the arrow icons to the left of this. You will notice that
  35. the text underneath the rodent icon changes from showing the step to
  36. "Varied" when you set independant rates.

  38. Clicking on the "Default" icon returns the mouse step-rate to it's
  39. original value (i.e. the value configured in your computer's CMOS
  40. memory.).

  42. Clicking SELECT on the "More Options" icon leads you to...

  44. More Mouse Options
  45. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  46. This window controls Mouse II's new facilties. The three option icons
  47. are:
  48.  
  49. * Wrap Mouse Pointer- when this is toggled on, the mouse pointer is
  50.   'wrapped      around' the screen so when it reaches the border of the
  51.   screen it reappears on the opposite side.
  52.  
  53. * Enlarged Pointer- this replaces the standard mouse pointer shape with
  54.   a brightly-coloured, enlarged arrow. This should be useful for those
  55.   who find Acorn's traditional shape difficult to see. With this
  56.   psycadelic montrosity crawling around your screen, it will be very
  57.   difficult not to miss it!

  59. * Allow Cursor Control- when this is toggled on, you can use the cursor
  60.   keys to move the mouse pointer around the screen for more accurate
  61.   positioning. Users of programs such as Paint and FormEd should benefit
  62.   from this. The amount the pointer moves in one keypress is dictated by
  63.   the Increment which can be set via the writeable field next to this
  64.   icon. This field is only useable when the option icon is toggled on.

  66. Below these option icons are three slabbed action icons:

  68. * Save- clicking on this icon will allow you to save the above options
  69.   to disk so that they take effect whenever Mouse is loaded.
  70.  
  71. * Config Speed- configures the current mouse step-rate as the default
  72.   value. This is then set for when you next switch on your computer or
  73.   perform a hard reset. Only whole numbers can be stored in CMOS and if
  74.   Mouse detects a Varied step-rate it will cancel the operation until
  75.   you set the step using one of the five speed icons.
  76.  
  77. * Both- does both of the above and then removes the Options window. A
  78.   Quick way of saving your mouse status.

  107. 1. You don't attempt to pass it off as your own work.

  112. 3. You do not sell it. This really annoys me! I don't get any profit
  113.    from this software so I don't see why anybody else should either. You
  114.    may charge a small price if you're running PD library or you need
  115.    something to cover the cost of discs or p&p.

  117. 4. You don't blame me when the program totally screws up your computer.
  118.    If you read the above instructions thoroughly you shouldn't have any
  119.    problems. Legitemate queries I will accept but blatent misuse- well...
